It's our third day of giving! Mom is feeling good. Thinking about going out of the way to give is making her happy! Hooray!
Mom made tons of homemade soup over the weekend, and she gave some to a teacher friend, who gave thanks for the soup. Mom continued to check in with friends who are living in area that has been affected by extreme flooding. Thank goodness, all the friends are well and not overly affected by this natural disaster.
Dad didn't have anything to offer, after a long day at work. His day had been delayed due to an accident on the highway (that delayed traffic) on his way to work. We are all grateful that he was safe and had the privilege to still make it to work, even if he arrived rather late. He arrived home rather late at the end of the day, and it was immediately time to sit down for dinner. He expressed his thanks for the meal being ready when we all were grateful before dinner. He might not have set out to make Mom feel good, but his kinds words of thanks for dinner made her happy.
Clara thought of her classmates. Each morning, a student takes a turn to light the candle for morning circle in her class. Knowing some students aren't confident using short matches when lighting the candle, she asked that we purchase a box of long matches for school. Today, she had these matches to share with her fellow classmates. Her teacher thanked her for sharing, too.
Through her mom's sense of humor, Mom made another person laugh today. After getting her flu vaccination, Mom was in the waiting room at the doctor's office. She put her pullover back on. Across the chest is written, "Always Cold." Mom's mom had sent her this humorous gift years ago. Well, when a man who was also waiting had read this, he laughed. This gave Mom the courage to strike up a short conversation with the nice gentleman. Mom says thanks to her mom for making a complete stranger happy today through her funny gift!
