When you start paying attention the things you are doing in everyday life, you may notice that you are already giving without necessarily thinking about it. That is what occurred today. I stopped to talk to a friend about work, but then it became more of a personal conversation about him talking about his troubles back at his house. It takes but a small moment to choose whether to stop the conversation or lend an ear as a way of showing support to a friend or stranger. The next time you talk to a stranger or friend, and it seems as if they are having trouble with that day, just ask "what's on your mind?" A simple question to potentially offer some support to a family member, friend, coworker, or stranger.
