Well Being in the Workplace

Share Happiness!

Well being in the workplace is possible. Our careers are a large part of our lives and it’s important to maintain our well being in our workplace. With that said, finding ways to give back is a great way to improve your happiness at work, connect with your colleagues and community, and help others. Here are some suggestions to get you started.

Show Your Gratitude To Increase Well Being In The Workplace

This is the most simple, yet very impactful, way of giving back. Whether it’s a colleague or customer – Tell them that you’re thankful for them.

Tell your colleagues how grateful you are for their daily hard work and how much of an asset they are to the team. Let your customers know that you’re thankful for their loyalty and enjoy serving them.

Giving your gratitude to others is the easiest way to give. On top of that, it can truly make a positive difference for the people around you and yourself!

Give Notes of Appreciation

Take it a step up and show your gratitude with action!

Do you know a customer’s birthday that’s coming up? The next time they come in, give them a birthday card and be sure to say how much you appreciate your customer relationship. Looking to cheer up a colleague’s day? Leave a sticky note on their desk telling them that you appreciated a great idea they had, their help with a project, or for just working hard every day.

With your example, your colleagues may follow suit. And in time, you’ll create a workplace full of giving, support, and positive recognition.

Donate What You Can When You Can

If each person in the organization donates even $5, so much can be raised and given back to the community. Consider giving to organizations that your organization may regularly support. If that’s not part of their routine, suggest some organizations and encourage people to give what they can.

Tip: Find a local organization that has a connection to your organization or community!

Volunteering Increases Well Being In The Workplace

One of the best gifts that you can donate is your time.

Consider helping with your organization’s volunteer or community giving program. Whether it’s volunteering for a non profit’s event, joining your colleagues for a park clean up, or assisting the planning committee with their next fundraiser – It all makes a difference.

If your work doesn’t have these programs, start one! Pitch the idea to your employer about having a community service day, hosting a company-wide fundraiser, or simply featuring local non profits on your social media platforms to bring awareness to their causes.

Well Being In The Workplace Starts With Giving

There are endless ways for you and your colleagues to volunteer your time. And in the end, it’ll help you improve your teamwork, connect with one another, and increase your happiness.

Happiness in the workplace can be a huge factor for anyone’s overall well-being. That being said, one of the greatest joys is the ability to give back. When you collaborate to build a work environment focused on giving, you’re bringing joy to your organization, your community, and yourselves.
